Actress Shannon Guess Richardson Indited & Charged in Ricin Attack

Shannon Richardson

Shannon Ricin-hardson? Oh yes…I went there.

Texas actress Shannon Guess Richardson has been indicted and charged in the mailing of ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a U.S. attorney’s office in Texas said today. The three-count indictment accuses Richardson of mailing three threatening letters around May 20 to Obama, Bloomberg, and Mark Glaze — director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

Richardson, 35, initially told the FBI that her estranged husband, Nathaniel, sent the ricin-laced letters, but a polygraph exam found her to be “deceptive” on the matter, court papers said. Richardson has had minor roles in TV series, including “The Walking Dead” and “The Vampire Diaries.”

Based on the extraordinary novel by Harold Frederic, which the great American critic Edmund Wilson praised as a brave and singular book that “differs fundamentally from any other Civil War fiction,” Copperhead is the story of Abner Beech, a stubborn and righteous farmer of Upstate New York, who defies his neighbors and his government in the bloody and contentious autumn of 1862.

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Release Date: Aug. 1, 2014

fifty-shades-of-grey Variety is reporting that the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie adaptation of the book will have an Aug. 1, 2014 release date.

Sam Taylor-Johnson will direct the first film based off the E L James hit ‘Fifty Shades’ Trilogy. Taylor-Johnson’s previous work includes the biopic ‘Nowhere Boy’, about John Lennon’s early life as an adolescent living with his aunt. Kelly Marcel is set to write with Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti producing.

In several interviews in the past year, Universal Chairman Adam Fogelson has said that the plan was never to rush out the film version and that, despite the slow pace, the film could still bow by summer 2014.

The dating also makes sense. “Fifty Shades of Grey” has a strong female fanbase and will make for good counter programing to the other films set to be released at this time: “Jupiter Ascending” from Warner Bros., MGM’s “Hercules” and Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Casting is now underway and while no offers are out to any thesps at this time, sources told Variety that Johnson’s husband, “Kick-Ass 2″ star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, may have been part of those early talks and may have an early edge for the part of Christian Grey.

The Eye Of God: A Sigma Force Novel

In The Eye of God, a Sigma Force novel, New York Times bestselling author James Rollins delivers an apocalyptic vision of a future predicted by the distant past.

In the wilds of Mongolia, a research satellite has crashed, triggering an explosive search for its valuable cargo: a code-black physics project connected to the study of dark energy—and a shocking image of the eastern seaboard of the United States in utter ruin.

At the Vatican, a package arrives containing two strange artifacts: a skull scrawled with ancient Aramaic and a tome bound in human skin. DNA evidence reveals that both came from the same body: the long dead Mongol king Genghis Khan.

Commander Gray Pierce and Sigma Force set out to discover a truth tied to the fall of the Roman Empire, to a mystery going back to the birth of Christianity, and to a weapon hidden for centuries that holds the fate of humanity.

Review
“If you’re a fan of smart, entertaining adventure fiction, this is your summer beach read writ large. . . .All the science, all the history, and all the locations are masterfully intertwined. The characters are multi-dimensional. And the story is, well, a corker.” — from Mark Sullivan, New York Journal of Books

“The world is ending. And even though many have written about this fact, Rollins never stoops to stereotypical plots. With this, he provides the ultimate story….[He] describes ancient times and connects them with present day so well that it’s a truly fascinating read that will hold the attention of any mystery/thriller fan. Carefully researched, the characters both old and new literally come to life–offering an ending that is truly a surprise.” –Amy Lignor, Suspense Magazine

“After Crichton passed away in 2008 he clearly passed the baton to James Rollins, who like Crichton, is a renaissance man.” — Huffington Post

From the Back Cover
In a masterwork of historical mystery and scientific exploration, New York Times bestselling author James Rollins reveals an apocalyptic vision of the day after tomorrow, of a future predicted by the distant past, of a world doomed to burn under The Eye of God

The crash of a U.S. military research satellite in the remote wilds of Mongolia triggers an explosive search for the valuable cargo it holds: a code-black physics project connected to the study of dark energy, the energy associated with the birth of our universe. But the last blurry image from the falling satellite captures a chilling sight: a frightening look into the future, a view of a smoldering eastern seaboard of the United States in utter ruin. At the Vatican, a mysterious package arrives for the head of Pontifical ancient studies, sent by a colleague who vanished a decade earlier. It contains two strange artifacts: a skull scrawled with ancient Aramaic and a tome bound in human skin. DNA testing reveals both are from Genghis Khan—the long-dead Mongol king whose undiscovered tomb is rumored to hold the vast treasures and knowledge of a lost ancient empire.

Commander Gray Pierce and Sigma—joined by a pair of Vatican historians—race to uncover a truth tied to the fall of the Roman Empire, to a mystery bound in the roots of Christianity’s origins, and to a weapon hidden for centuries that holds the fate of humanity.

Video: Henry Cavill Talks ‘Man of Steel’ & The JLA!

henry-cavill

In discussing a possible Justice League movie Cavill says: “Justice League, more movies, I have no idea. Justice League could be great if done correctly. It’s a very tough one to do because the DC comic heroes are all god-like in their power.

So in this real world setting we’re telling our story in, it’s going to be tough to achieve that and it has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought.

So, it won’t be right away, I hope it’s not anyway. It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them to gether in one way or another. I think it would be great to do, but I don’t think it’s around the corner.”
