‘Man of Steel’ About to Turn a Profit – Before Release

In a rare turn of events, it appears that WB’s “Man of Steel” may well turn a profit before it even hits theatres on June 14th. Advertising Age and THR report that Warners has already recouped almost three-quarters of the reported $225 Million dollar pricetag before it has opened at the box-office.

“Man of Steel” boasts a mammoth amount of promotion partners, to name a few; Gillette, Mattel, Walmart, Fisher Price, Lego, Converse, Chrysler, Hershey, Nokia, Sears, Carl’s Jr., Roebuck & Co., Hardee, Kellogg, Kinetics, Warby Parker and the U.S. Army National Guard.

Expect to see a young Clark Kent at Walmart asking Ma Kent for Fisher Price & Mattel toys as she buys some Gillette razors for Pa.

Only 2 other films come close to that amount of promotional partners; Universal’s “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” and “The Dark Knight Rises“.
