In a surprise that was seen by only a few forecasters, “Lucy” used her muscle to win out against Dwayne Johnson’s “Hercules” with $44 Million over “Hercules'” $29 Million. Coming in 3rd was “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” with an additional $16.4 Million, upping it’s domestic haul to $172 and is now the 9th biggest movie of the year. In 4th place is “The Purge: Anarchy” while the animated film “Planes: Fire & Rescue” comes in 5th for the weekend.
