Tonight is the biggest night of the Fall 2013 season so far as no less than 11 shows back from the summer hiatus! ABC, CBS and FOX are all in the mix tonight, FOX and CBS are airing 4 shows while ABC is airing 3, one of which is the newbie ‘Betrayal’.

Once Upon a Time – Season 3

This is Fairy Tale Land. It’s filled with magic, monsters and all of the characters we all know from stories growing up. It’s real, and so are the people in it. But unlike the “happily ever after” you may have heard about, their stories continued, and The Evil Queen cast a Dark Curse over the land….

This is Storybrooke. It’s a quiet, little, New England town filled with people who go about their everyday lives with no idea who they really are. The Queen’s Curse has trapped them here and placed her in near-complete control. They have no real memories and no real hope.

Once Upon A Time is, at its core, a story about hope.

“For us, that’s what a fairy tale is. It’s that ability to think your life will get better. It’s why you buy a lottery ticket—because if you win you get to tell your boss that you’re quitting and you get to move to Paris or wherever and be who you always wanted to be. And that’s Cinderella, right? One day she’s sweeping up and the next she’s going to the ball. Adam and I just wanted to write about something hopeful that for one hour a week allows one to put everything aside and have that feeling that your dreams just may come true.”
– Edward Kitsis, Co-Creator/Executive Producer

Revenge – Season 3

All the major players are back this season along with a couple of new faces. Emily is continuing her mission of revenge with the added task of trying to figure out what happened to her mother. Secrets were uncovered and it is discovered that when Emily was a child, her mother (Kara) tried to drown her and was placed in a mental hospital. After Amanda’s accident at Grayson Manor, Kara comes back and is clearly unstable. Emily eventually mends her relationship with her mother and leaves Emily’s life as abruptly as she returned. Aided in her mission to find her mother and seek revenge is Aiden, an old lover and fellow student of Takeda’s. Aiden was originally recruited by his sensei after his sloppy attempt to shoot a Russian mobster who had kidnapped and forced Colleen (his sister) into a life of drug abuse and prostitution.

The Graysons are dealing with troubles of their own. It turns out that Victoria faked her death and went into hiding after the plane crash. She had been working out a deal with Gordon for her and Charlotte to get new identities and escape. When her plans fell apart, Victoria schemed with Conrad to sick the police after Gordon instead. With nothing left to lose, Gordon attacked Emily in an attempt to retrieve an exonerating video, but ended up being shot by Aiden.

Daniel has been working with the Initiative and scheming to take over his father’s company. By “accident” (still unknown if this was an accident or not), Padma clued Daniel in to Grayson Global’s possible ownership of NolCorp, which turned out to be true. All while this was going on, Daniel had been guided into doing certain deals by Helen Crowley. Victoria was afraid the Initiative would do to Daniel what they did to David so she took care of Helen permanently (she killed her). Since Conrad was no longer employed, he decided he needed something new for himself. With the purchase of Ryans’ share of the Stowaway, he planned on converting Montauk (starting with the Stowaway) into the next Atlantic City and then move on to the Governor’s mansion. The casino business didn’t work out for him, but a run for Governor is still in his sights.

The Porter’s life becomes very interesting this year. Amanda has returned and is very pregnant. During her baby shower Amanda has a heated discussion with Victoria about David Clarke. The discussion ends with Amanda accidently falling off a 2nd story balcony; putting the life of her and baby in jeopardy. Eventually both of them pull through and she and Jack name their son Carl David Porter (after each of their fathers). As for Declan, he gets involved with the wrong crowd and ends up being caught for robbing homes. What he doesn’t know is the botched robbery was setup by the same man he robbed, Kenny Ryan (and his brother Nate). The brothers are looking for payback because years earlier Jack and Declan’s dad had a connection to the murder of their father. Through shady deals and a bit of manipulation, the two of them weasel their way into partial ownership of the Stowaway and start using it as a front for their criminal activities. Jack is not happy with this and arranges for the police to raid his bar (and get them arrested). The Ryans are warned of this and Jack is arrested instead. It would have been the end for Jack if not for the “charitable” nature of Conrad. The senior Grayson springs Jack and buys out the Ryans’ share of the bar to boot. Nate isn’t too happy about this turn of events. He meets with Conrad to find out what happened. Conrad gives him the scoop and implies that if Nate takes care of the Jack & Amanda problem, the casino would move forward with him still involved. Nate takes action and hides on Jack’s boat when the couple disembarks on their honeymoon. He emerges the next morning with a gun and every intention of hurting Jack and Amanda. This encounter didn’t end well for anyone though; Jack is shot, Nate blows up the boat and kills himself, Amanda dies in the aftermath, and Emily loses a friend.

Betrayal – New

Two lovers’ worlds will collide, culminating in a powerful and compelling story of sex, love, loyalty, marriage and treachery in the provocative, sensual and gripping new drama, “Betrayal,” premiering SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.

A chance meeting between Sara Hanley (Hannah Ware), a professional photographer, and Jack McAllister (Stuart Townsend), a top attorney, leads to an instant and undeniable attraction. Sara’s husband, Drew Stafford (Chris Johnson), is a successful prosecutor with political aspirations, and the couple have a seven-year-old, Oliver. Unbeknownst to Sara, Jack is in-house counsel to a powerful but somewhat shady entrepreneur, Thatcher Karsten (James Cromwell), and is married to Thatcher’s daughter, Elaine (Wendy Moniz). Elaine, secure in her relationship with Jack, is a smart, determined woman attempting to make her Chicago café a success on her own terms, as well as be a good mother to the couples’ 16-year-old twins, Valerie (Elizabeth McLaughlin) and Victor (Braeden Lemasters). However Sara and Jack both realize something is missing in their marriages, and fight against the realization that they’ve met their soul mates in one another.

As Sara and Jack struggle with their feelings and their guilt about their families, Thatcher’s brother-in-law, Lou, is murdered, and all evidence points to Thatcher’s mentally challenged son, T.J. (Henry Thomas). Sara discovers she’s in the middle of a nightmare when she learns that Drew will be the prosecuting attorney in this high-profile murder case, which can secure his political future, and that Jack will be the lawyer for the defense. The Good Wife – Season 5

THE GOOD WIFE is a drama starring Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies as a wife and mother who boldly assumes full responsibility for her family and re-enters the workforce after her husband’s very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail. Pushing aside the betrayal and crushing public humiliation caused by her husband, Peter, Alicia Florrick starts over by pursuing her original career as a defense attorney. As a junior associate at a prestigious Chicago law firm, she joins her longtime friend, former law school classmate and firm partner Will Gardner, who is interested in rekindling their former relationship. The firm’s top litigator and other partner, Diane Lockhart, likes Alicia’s work and her connections so she and Will award her with a full-time associate position following a trial period. Alicia beat out Cary Agos, a clever young attorney who takes a job in the state’s attorney’s office, now bitter and vengeful. Alicia finds an ally and a friend in Kalinda, the firm’s tough and mysterious in-house investigator. Gaining confidence every day, Alicia transforms herself from embarrassed politician’s scorned wife to resilient career woman, especially for the sake of providing a stable home for her children, 14-year-old Zach and 13-year-old Grace. Now that Peter is back home and planning to run for office again with help from Eli Gold, his cunning image consultant, Alicia continues to redefine herself and her role in her family’s life.

The Mentalist – Season 6

THE MENTALIST stars Golden Globe Award nominee Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, an independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), who has a remarkable track record for solving serious crimes by using his razor sharp skills of observation. Within the Bureau, Jane is notorious for his blatant lack of protocol and his semi-celebrity past as a psychic medium, whose paranormal abilities he now admits he feigned. Jane’s role in cracking a series of tough, high-profile cases is greatly valued by his fellow agents; however, no-nonsense Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon alternates between reluctantly acknowledging Jane’s usefulness and blasting him for his theatrics, narcissism and dangerous lack of boundaries. Lisbon’s team includes agents Kimball Cho, Wayne Rigsby and Grace Van Pelt, who all think Jane’s a loose cannon but admire his charm and knack for clearing cases.

The Simpsons – Season 26

The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical parody of a middle class American lifestyle epitomized by its family of the same name, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield and parodies American culture, society, television, and many aspects of the human condition.

Bob’s Burgers – Season 4

The animated comedy BOB’S BURGERS returns for a well-done third season. The series follows the ups and downs of BOB (H. Jon Benjamin), who runs Bob’s Burgers with the help of his wife and their three kids. Bob has big ideas about burgers, but his family falls short on service and sophistication. Despite the greasy counters, lousy location and dearth of customers, Bob and his family are determined to make every “Grand Re-Re-Re-opening” a success.

Bob’s wife, LINDA (John Roberts), stands by her man, though she’s easily distracted. Their eldest daughter, 13-year-old TINA (Dan Mintz), has minimal social skills and is a hopeless romantic with a thing for zombies. Middle child GENE (Eugene Mirman), the only boy in the family, is an aspiring musician with a thirst for life and a hunger for food. LOUISE (Kristen Schaal) is the bunny ears-wearing youngest daughter with an off-kilter sense of humor that makes her somewhat of a liability in the kitchen – and with the public.
This season, Bob’s eccentric landlord Mr. Fischoeder (guest voice Kevin Kline) purchases a mechanical shark that threatens the town’s safety; the kids unwittingly get jobs working for a pair of married pot farmers; and Louise has an identity crisis when a bully steals her bunny ears. The upcoming season also features guest voices Zach Galifianakis, Nick Offerman, Jeffrey Tambor, Asiz Ansari, Bill Hader, Megan Mullally and Sarah and Laura Silverman.

BOB’S BURGERS was nominated recently for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program, its first in the category. It also was a 2012 Critics’ Choice Television Award nominee for Best Animated Series.

BOB’S BURGERS is a 20th Century Fox Television production. The series was created by Loren Bouchard (“Home Movies”). Bouchard and Jim Dauterive (“King of the Hill”) serve as executive producers and writers.

Family Guy – Season 12

Entering its 11th season, FAMILY GUY continues to entertain fans with its shocking humor, infamous cutaway gags and epic episodes. Since its debut, the show has reached cult status among fans, and its breakout star, a talking baby, has become one of the greatest TV villains of all time. FAMILY GUY has racked up numerous awards, including an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, only the second animated series in television history to be honored with such a distinction.

The show follows the adventures of an endearingly ignorant dad, PETER GRIFFIN (Seth MacFarlane), and his hilariously odd family of middle-class New Englanders in Quahog, RI. LOIS (Alex Borstein) is Peter’s wife, a stay-at-home mom with no patience for her family’s antics. Then there are their kids: 18-year-old MEG (Mila Kunis) is an outcast at school and the Griffin family punching bag; 13-year-old CHRIS (Seth Green) is a socially awkward teen who doesn’t have a clue about the opposite sex; and one-year-old STEWIE (MacFarlane) is a diabolically clever baby whose burgeoning sexuality is very much a work in progress. Rounding out the Griffin household is BRIAN (MacFarlane), the family dog and a ladies man who is one step away from AA.

In the upcoming season, the Griffins embark on a hilarious trip to Italy, Peter discovers that he has a vestigial twin growing out of his neck and a love triangle emerges between Stewie, Brian and Stewie’s teddy bear, Rupert. Also, Peter and QUAGMIRE (MacFarlane) become a singing/songwriting team, in the vein of Simon & Garfunkel.

Guest voices scheduled for the 11th season include Conan O’Brien, Jeff Daniels, Michelle Dockery, Tony Sirico, Yvette Nicole Brown and Gary Cole.

FAMILY GUY is a 20th Century Fox Television production. Seth MacFarlane is creator/executive producer. Rich Appel serves as executive producer/showrunner, while Mark Hentemann, Steve Callaghan, Danny Smith, Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild are executive producers.

American Dad! – Season 10

AMERICAN DAD, the Emmy Award-nominated animated series that follows staunch GOP supporter and CIA agent STAN SMITH (Seth MacFarlane) and the misadventures of his unconventional family in Langley Falls, VA, returns for an eighth season.

Stan’s blissfully unaware wife, FRANCINE (Wendy Schaal), has an unfaltering loyalty that allows her to turn a blind eye toward Stan’s unabashed arrogance. Meanwhile, Stan constantly butts heads with his 18-year-old left-wing activist daughter, HAYLEY (Rachael MacFarlane), who knows just how to push her father’s buttons, whether it’s by helping the homeless, demanding women’s rights or advocating gun control. Hayley’s 14-year-old brother is the geeky, yet confident STEVE (Scott Grimes), a kid who spends his time playing video games and obsessing about the opposite sex.
The Smith cabinet is rounded out by two rather unconventional members: ROGER (Seth MacFarlane), the sassy, sarcastic and routinely inappropriate space alien living in the attic, who is constantly trying on new disguises, and with them, new personalities; and KLAUS (Dee Bradley Baker), the attention-starved goldfish with the brain of a German Olympic skier who always throws in his two cents, regardless of whether anyone is listening.

This screwball family, full of radically different personalities, is just trying to figure out how to love and trust one another in a bi-partisan world. And with a guy like Stan in charge of national security, it’s guaranteed to be one hilarious ride.

In the upcoming tenth season, the Smiths are back with more off-the-wall exploits that find Steve unsuccessfully attempting to use a CIA cloning machine to create a super-hot prom date; Francine teaching Steve how to shoplift; Stan teaching Steve how to hunt deer; Roger chasing ghosts; and Francine trying to relive the Smith kids’ childhood by taking a group trip to the “Familyland” theme park that ends up being anything but family-friendly. Guest voices next season include Mariah Carey, Ellie Kemper, Zooey Deschanel, Gary Busey, Thandie Newton, Mark Cuban, Cloris Leachman, Stanley Tucci, Nat Faxon and Jacki Weaver.

AMERICAN DAD is a 20th Century Fox Television production. Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman serve as co-creators and executive producers. Steve Callaghan also serves as an executive producer and showrunner.
